Symmetrical Balance is when a picture is equally balanced in both sides. It has the same amount of people or looks the same. Asymmetrical Balance is when a picture is balanced but it doesnt look the same. It could be a big object with more than one little object on the other side to make up for the size of the first object. I think balance is important in art because it makes pictures and works of art look nice and proportional.
