Compositional Trick #1: Rule of Thirds

The Rule of Thirds trick helps you position your subject somewhere other than the center of the photo. This helps the photo look a lot better and more like a photograph than a snapshot. You can accomplish Rule of Thirds by diving the camera screen into thirds vertically and horizontally like a tic-tac-toe board. Where the lines meet is where you should place your subject or emphasis.

In my photograph, I used Rule of Thirds to better place my subject. I placed my subject on the upper-right corner of the intersections. This makes the viewer look straigth at my subject then at the rest of my picture.

I really like this picture of yours. This person in it has so much emotion. The shadow she makes is also very nice.
